HER2-low status was associated with worse OS in breast cancer patients with certain negative prognostic factors compared with HER2-zero status. Additionally, HER2-low1+ and HER2-low2+/ISH(-) subgroups predominantly exhibited HR+ status.

Clinicopathological Characteristics of Breast Tumors with Neuroendocrine Features: A Retrospective Case Series. (PubMed, Chirurgia (Bucur))
In our study, breast tumors with neuroendocrine features exhibited a luminal immunophenotype and did not demonstrate a clearly distinct clinical behavior compared with conventional hormone receptor positive breast cancer. Neuroendocrine differentiation may therefore represent a morphological feature within the luminal spectrum rather than a distinct biological entity.

Real-World Outcomes of Neoadjuvant Dual Blockade in HER2-Positive Breast Cancer: The Role of Tumor Biology and pCR. (PubMed, J Clin Med)
This multicenter retrospective study included 290 female patients diagnosed with HER2-positive early or locally advanced breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant trastuzumab and pertuzumab-based regimens (anthracycline-based [AC-THP] or non-anthracycline [TCHP]) across six centers. pCR remains the strongest surrogate for survival, neutralizing initial risk factors. These findings support using quantitative biomarker thresholds for personalization and reinforce the efficacy of non-anthracycline regimens.

Patient-derived cell lines unveil COL1A2 as a predictor of docetaxel resistance in breast cancer. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
Our findings indicate that COL1A2 is associated with reduced chemotherapy sensitivity in HR+/HER2- breast cancer and may serve as a candidate biomarker to guide neoadjuvant taxane selection. This study provides a novel theoretical basis for optimizing neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimens in patients with advanced HR+/HER2- breast cancer.

The proposed aptamer-integrated electrochemical biosensing platform is a noninvasive and point-of-care approach for the early diagnosis of HER2+/HR- subtype, providing insights into molecularly targeted BC diagnostics.

Metformin enhances alpelisib sensitivity in HER2+ breast cancer by suppressing cancer stemness and oncogenic signaling. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
These findings indicate that metformin synergistically enhances the antitumor activity of alpelisib in HER2-positive breast cancer by inhibiting oncogenic signaling and stemness pathways. Beyond its metabolic benefit in mitigating hyperglycemia, metformin may potentiate PI3K-targeted therapies, supporting further preclinical and clinical evaluation of this combination strategy.
