Pan-cancer analysis revealed the potential of ZNF184 as a prognostic and predictive biomarker for adverse clinical outcomes. Primordial germ cell-like cells residing in the pituitary may serve as the origin of intracranial germ cell tumors. (PubMed, Sci Rep)
These results support the existence of PGC-like cells that within the normal pituitary gland. This study provides new insights into the cellular origins of iGCTs and suggests further investigation into the regulatory mechanisms that may lead to tumorigenesis.

This review focuses on recent advances in the mechanistic interplay between integrin signaling and ECM proteins in hPSC maintenance, mechanotransduction, and lineage-directed differentiation, emphasizing defined culture systems and their translational potential in regenerative medicine.

Our integrated computational and clinical analyses indicate that the piR-823/PIWIL1/DNMT3B/CDH1 axis is a putative epigenetic regulator of EMT and cancer stemness in ovarian cancer. Additionally, piR-823 may serve as a promising prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target, offering novel insights into OC pathogenesis and treatment.

Long non-coding RNA PP7080 enhances cancer stemness and tumorigenic features in oral cancer. (PubMed, J Dent Sci)
Furthermore, we demonstrated that PP7080 may enhance cancer stemness features by counteracting the tumor-suppressive effect of miR-601. Targeting PP7080 may offer a promising therapeutic strategy for oral cancer by reducing cancer stemness.

Maternal exposure to cyclophosphamide during prepubertal life does not affect the cryosusceptibility of in vitro derived mouse embryos. (PubMed, Reprod Fertil)
The quality and health of these embryos, measured by their development and important growth markers, were also similar. These findings provide hopeful news for young girls who receive certain types of chemotherapy, who may still have the option to use IVF in the future without increased risk of embryo damage during freezing.

ALKBH5 enhances cadmium-induced stemness enrichment and proliferation of colon cancer cells via m6A-dependent regulation of AXIN2 and activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling. (PubMed, Chem Biol Interact)
ALKBH5 was found to demethylate the m6A of AXIN2 mRNA, reducing IGF2BP1-mediated stabilization of AXIN2 mRNA, leading to its destabilization and reduced expression, which subsequently hyperactivated the Wnt/β-catenin signaling. These results highlight the role of the ALKBH5-m6A-AXIN2-Wnt/β-catenin axis in Cd-induced stemness and proliferation in colon cancer, offering new insights into Cd-associated CRC development.

Andrographolide exerts anti-cancer effects through mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis, while paradoxically increases OCT4 expression.
